Darren is a devoted father of two and a loving husband, known for his friendly, honest, and down-to-earth nature. His passion for his work is evident in every completed project, and since he personally handles all the surveys, you’ll know you’re partnering with a company that values integrity from the start.
Having grown up in Africa, Darren always had a desire to work outdoors. After finishing school, he pursued Arboriculture and spent many years working with trees before seamlessly transitioning into the landscaping industry. It was after moving to the Cotswolds with his wife Kelly that Darren Watt Landscaping was established.
While Darren enjoys hobbies like golf, cricket, and fishing, being a father of two young children means he now has less time for his sporting interests.
Running a family business is incredibly important to Darren, who proudly states, “We have a fantastic team that shares the same values.”
Kelly was born in Zimbabwe and moved to Chipping Norton as a teenager. At 18, she relocated to London, where she met Darren. After spending a year traveling and living in London for six years, they realized the city’s fast pace was no longer for them. They decided to move back to the Cotswolds, where Kelly had grown up. For the first six years of the business, Kelly balanced working part-time with Darren, holding down a 9-5 job, and raising a young family.
When Kelly transitioned to working in the business full-time, her primary focus was managing the office and overseeing projects. However, she quickly saw an opportunity to expand the business, which has been an exciting journey. Kelly now handles the website, manages social media, writes blogs, and oversees the company’s accounts.
Her hobbies include reading, writing, traveling, and scuba diving—though these have taken a backseat to the demands of motherhood, marriage, and running a busy office.
Reflecting on her journey, Kelly said, "It felt like the right time to fully commit to the business, and I'm thrilled to be part of its growth and more involved in the day-to-day operations. Watching the company thrive year after year is incredibly rewarding, and I’m proud to be a part of it."
Ash has a passion for working outdoors and brings years of experience in both the building and landscaping industries. Darren and Kelly were thrilled to welcome him to the team.
One of Ash’s unique hobbies is Airsoft, which he describes as "basically running around with toy guns, shooting at other big kids doing the same" with a smile.
Having lived in and around Banbury his entire life, Ash knows the Cotswolds like the back of his hand. When he joined Darren Watt Landscaping, it was clear he would be a fantastic addition to the team.
Ash is a kind, genuine person who is hardworking, honest, and good-natured. When you meet him on your project, you'll quickly see why he’s such a great fit for our family business—his values perfectly align with ours.
James is our young labourer with a strong passion for working outdoors, particularly in the landscaping trade. Coming from a family rooted in the construction industry, it felt like a natural path for him to follow.
Since joining the company, James has been eager to learn, always friendly, and ready to dive into any task. His enthusiasm and work ethic have made him an invaluable part of the team.
Outside of work, James enjoys playing football every weekend and goes surfing whenever he gets the chance.
On-site, he’s hardworking and always a gentleman. When you meet him, you’ll be greeted with a warm smile and his polite, friendly demeanour.
Chris joined our team after spending a few years in the retail industry, eager to return to a career where he could work outdoors. Having worked with Ash years ago, it felt like the perfect fit to bring him into our family business.
On-site, Chris is known for his big personality and constant laughter. While he’s still adjusting to the physical demands of landscaping, he’s quickly become an invaluable member of the team.
