Darren is a father of two and a loving husband, he is a friendly, honest and down to earth person, his passion for what he does will reflect in your finished projects, and because he is the first person you will meet, as he carries out all the surveys himself, you will know that you are working with a company that has integrity.
Having grown up in Africa he always wanted to work outdoors, so when he left school, he started studying Arboriculture, and worked with trees for many years before moving into the landscaping industry, which was a natural and easy move. When Darren and his wife Kelly moved to the Cotswolds, it was then that Darren Watt Landscaping was born.
His hobbies include golf, cricket and fishing, but being a father of two young kids he finds he has less and less time for his love of sport, so he has to watch the games on tv instead.
Being a family run business means the world to Darren, he says 'We have a great team of people that share the same values'.
Kelly was born in Zimbabwe and moved to Chipping Norton when she was a young teenager, she then moved to London at 18, where she met Darren, after they went travelling for a year and having lived in London for six years, they decided that the hustle and bustle of London was not for them anymore, so they moved to the Cotswolds where Kelly grew up. Over the years Kelly has always worked part time with Darren and had another 9-5 job, as well bringing up a young family.
Kelly recently joined the business full time, based in the office doing all the paperwork and managing the projects, she also manages the website and social media, writes the blogs, and manages the accounts.
Kelly's hobbies include reading, writing, travelling and scuba diving all of which seem a distant memory with a busy life of being a mother, wife and running a busy office.
Kelly said, ‘It felt like the right time to dedicate 100% of my time to the business, and I am so excited to be involved in the business growth and being more involved in the day to day activities.’
Craig joined Darren 5 years ago, being a family friend and also from Zimbabwe he knew what our values were, he has gone from strength to strength and after working part time for the first few years, he is now with us 5 days a week.
Craig is a cheeky chap with a big personality, he is honest and loyal and works really hard, he is also a perfectionist so will make sure everything is perfect on each project.
Craig loves wearing a hat, it is part of his signature style, and you will always see him with one, he is very energetic and you will also notice his loud and contagious laugh on site.
Craig is also an entrepreneur as he makes bespoke leather belts and has a business selling Biltong (which is a Southern African favourite).
Tyran recently joined the team. He is a much-loved family member, who also naturally loves the outdoors, even though he left Africa when he was a young boy, he still has the African values we all share.
When he went travelling to Australia, he worked for a landscaping company where his love for the trade began.
Tyran is always the first one up in the morning with an eager and enthusiastic approach. He is a friendly and charming guy, who is definitely a team player and is keen to learn and improve his skills.
On site he is hard working and a when you meet him, he is a gentleman, always polite and will always approach you with a big warm smile.
